You don't need to know at all, it tells you the basics (or at least the first one did) and it's really easy to get into. :P

Why skip it? Perhaps playing it will teach you the ways of the game so that one day you can steal all of your friends' money in a not-so illegal way

I played Poker Night for 6 hours and lost every single game except one where the river was the only thing that saved me after the two of us that were left went all in. I'd show you a shot of my stats page where I'm $300,000 or so in the red but it appears the game has reset itself for some unknown reason since I last played. I know the rules. I know how the game works. I'm just hopelessly bad to the point that the game just makes me angry.

I'm bad at it too, i think the only reason i managed to win the items is because my dad knows more about playing Texas Hold 'Em than i do

I think i'm also in the red as well, but i don't think Poker Night remembers your stats if you're reinstalling the game
