Evil Dead - 2013 Discussion (spoilers are allowed)

I am an Evil Dead fan... you know, that gory demonic possession horror movie!

I have just figured out that there is going to be a remake/sequel, and I for one, am wondered by that fact. Evil Dead seemed like a template for horror movies, so if the new movie can take that template, and IMPROVE it, that would be amazing.

However, I fear that the movie will be too loyal to the original, and will not be it's own movie. We'll see on April 5th, Friday.

Also... sorry for being nerdy... but when I saw the trailer, I saw that the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis has no face. I'm sorry, but it's just that... I always remembered it as a stuffty version of Spongebob Squarepants, plus, the face is pretty important... I won't tell you why.

My favorite movie from that particular "series" was Army of Darkness

I read a nice article by Empire Magazine about it.

I'm excited for it, but am curious as to how they will do it. Reading Empire's review of it, it seems like it could go either way.
It'll be unusual, because it's a remake of Evil Dead. But Evil Dead 2 was already a remake of Evil Dead. So it's in a sense a remake of a remake, or a 2nd remake of an original film.

It does have Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell directing it, however.

However it turns out, I'll see it.

I absolutely love the the originals.
Bruce Campbell vs. Army of Darkness is one of my favourite films of all time too. It's a great sequel.
And I really hope there's lots of low-quality gore and whatnot.
