Castle Story is a mix between an RTS and a Voxel based game by Sauropod Studios. In this game you are given a couple of yellow dudes(bricktrons) to do your bidding, and your task is to build castles and fight against other players or the creatures that lurk.

The goal is to explore a vast landscape full of mysteries and dangers, all while defending your castle against onslaughts of hostile creatures and even other players.

Castle Story takes place on flying islands, high above an infinite ocean. The islands are made of voxels, cubes made of various elements, which means you can dig, carve and build anything you can imagine in the landscape. Digging underground to gather resources, stacking bricks on top of each other to build a wall or even tunneling through a mountain is all possible and even necessary to keep your Bricktrons safe.

Carefully designing your castle not only requires creativity and imagination, but thanks to pathfinding AI and physics simulations, Castle Story has layers of strategy and depth on top of an otherwise free-form sandbox experience. When it turns Night the game will turn very aggressive spawning monsters to appear to destroy your precious Bricktrons.

THIS GAME IS STILL IN DEVELOPMENT

SERIOUS: I love what I've seen of this game, very cool looking.

woah this looks promising

I wish there was a game like this that had an open world, rpg sort of feel. You have your own character, yet you could enter a certain mode to build up your castle. Diplomatic or military means could be used to deal with your neighbors and stuff.

This game looks good though for a tower-defense.

No, I'm pretty sure this is more like Dwarf Fortress than a tower defense.

Partly. I don't see much DF in it, but you're right, its not pure tower defense.

i dont see any tower defense in this really
sure you're defending a fort, but tower defense implies enemies streaming from point A to point B and you put down a multitude of towers to slow their path and kill them

Wow.

I've had a false sense of what tower defense was.

Sorry 'bout that.

its all good :D
let us all bask in the glory of castle story

No kidding. :)

I cannot wait to build castles, brick by brick, indirectly through yellow blobmen.

i've got the prototype

right now, the game is a bit boring (i know it's only prototype, but no enemies makes no goal)

also, controls are a bit jacked (also, i know it's only prototype)

i'll be waiting for full game
