Author Topic: What should I get, chrome or firefox?  (Read 2202 times)

I use Chrome 'cause I don't care if I get my stuff tracked.

Nope. The Mozilla foundation is much more concerned about privacy and is supported by the EFF. You can get an open source build of Chrome called Chromium which doesn't include the phoning-homes to Google I'm pretty sure, though I don't know much about it.

I meant Google has an influence on a LOT of the internet. Adsense and whatnot.

Why would you care what some people at a company think of your research search?

Chrome if you are okay with Google knowing everything about you.

Confused to why you went with Firefox off the opinion of a few people, and why you didn't look at the poll before you decided.

Firefox kept messing up every other day so I had to get rid of it, happens on every computer I put it on.

Would not recommend

fyrefux I have it on my 1998 computer and runs great! :D 1998 is my little sister's comp but she uses her mum's. also my whole family uses FF BUT IE 1.1 is better than bothif you think this is true go get brains.

They're almost functionally identical, save for slightly improved plugin support in Firefox.
Go with whichever one you think has the prettiest UI

both
but preferably chrome

Safari because it is the best

theyre both free so try them both and see what you prefer.

Google may know stuff but iirc they also have a policy against sharing the info they get with anyone. I seem to remember a story where the police asked Google for info about someone they were trying to track down and Google refused.

forget it
switching to firefox
bai bai google chrome
If you press crtl-shift-n in google chrome, it doesn't track your data, in incognito mode.
