Author Topic: [Suggestion] Voip in Blockland, Voice chat.  (Read 3768 times)

it's important as hell indeed

but they're mics suck
and sound like static

then they kill us for not listening to instructions
they're mics?

You obviously haven't been on a tf2 server with a troll and 3 kids.

Mute.

I don't see the problem if theres going to be a mute button and most Blockland servers always have an admin online to ban them.
Honestly, it seems that your FULLY against this idea.
And another solution is a scrollbar in the audio tab of the options could change the volume of the voice chat.

It seems you haven't played any game that has voice chat at all if you haven't discovered those options.

Team Fortress 2
48.9 hrs / 1,005 hrs
Garry's Mod
16.3 hrs / 565 hrs
The reason I'm against the idea and have no life.
So er... you were saying I haven't played any games like that?

Okay point taken.
If you've played all those games then why didn't you ever discover the MUTE button?

You mean the button when you click "Esc" to go to the main menu and there is a ear with a cross on it that looks like this: and when clicking it, it brings up a window of players in the game and you can just double click to mute them?
Well, I discovered that a month after playing the game.
But the Mute button doesn't always work for some people because some people don't want to use the mute, they just want the admins to ban them for 1 sound.
That is a reason I don't want this in BL, so players can't use their god damn mics to spam stuff and make other players go like "OMG BANBANBANBAN!"

I don't get why you're still arguing, just ban them.
It's like chat spam, if someone abuses it ban them
I don't see whats the god damn problem

You have no real reason to be against voice chat. The reasons you're using would apply to every single game to ever use voice chat.

Dedicated servers that make mute buttons admin only and there are no admins.
I remember being on Pecon's before the V21 update and there was a mute button, admin only.
So unless this "GENIUS" idea doesn't come with a admin only mute button stuff, then I'll change my opinion on loving mics.

All of those games which also have a mute option. lol

Why would anyone use admin only mute.
I mean a mute that's client sided and written IN the engine so the NO ONE can disable it.
I mean wtf are you talking about every time you post it makes less and less sense.
Never in my 124 hours of TF2 have I ever come upon a server where I had the mute option disabled.

Mebe they should make this happen, and make it so you can only talk when an admin in a server approves you. (Idk)

As much as I want this to happen, I think there are WAY too many cons than pros. So no.

What are the cons besides an easily solvable problem of children screaming?

Is this what you meant to say?

people's mics being enorumusly suckish and only coming out as static

it's a serious problem when it's a game based on communication, like jail rps.
how can you listen to guards orders when you don't know what they are

also being a large internet user.

Is this what you meant to say?
don't go putting words in peoples mouths.

It's crazy people still ask for this. Think of another sandbox game that has voice chat and don't say GMod because that's a mod on top of a game with voice chat.

Voice chat is for being able to talk to teammates while you're doing something without having to stop and type - there's no use for that in Blockland, it's a sandbox game. If you want voice chat, launch via the steam overlay or use mumble or skype or teamspeak or whatever.

Loads of people in this thread are trying to compromise by saying "yeah we need muting, only approved players can talk blah blah" well all the options I just gave do exactly that.

It's not being added, ever. I guarantee it.
