Author Topic: Letter to Steam Greenlight Staff - Godspeed, letter!  (Read 7093 times)

Shouldn't this part of the letter, be changed like this:
Quote
Shortly thereafter, I fell in love with the game, and began to
create add-ons and modifications for it's community.
If you can't see what I changed, here it is in bold:

"Its" is the possessive of "it." "It's" is the contraction of "it" and "is."

oh you and your fancy terms

it's = it is
its x = referring to something's x

If I were "Mr. Kroll," this would have convinced to immediately greenlight blockland. Very persuasive.
good, thanks!

You should expand on how it could help the game grow or something like that. Otherwise it looks really good.
Sounds reasonable. Where would I put it?

Wait, isn't this cross posting since you put it in Development and now GD?
cross posting for the greater good :)

I know that you should do "its" when the noun besides the word "it" is singular, but is it done the same if that noun is instead, plural?

I thought thats bannable though.

Can't seriously expect Badspot to ban him for trying to help Blockland get on Greenlight.

"The game" is the subject and is singular.

Really nice letter, but I highly doubt it would work. Because if it did, other people could get the idea and try this out for other Greenlight games.

It's a letter from a fan of Blockland, so it's not likely to be seen as a petty plea for greenlighting.
If the Greenlight Staff see it and think it's just creeping for greenlighting, then they ought not to think against us, as it doesn't come at all from the mouths of the developers.

Sending it won't do Blockland's chances of Greenlighting any harm.
So it can either do nothing for our cause, or it can help it.
It's worth sending it. Let's just all be very careful however, and not be the massive idiots that many of us can be, and ensure that we don't suddenly send like 50 letters to the Greenlight Staff.

I like it. It's short and sweet and to the point, and is also a personal letter.
Even if they only answer the question of "What happens if Greenlight closes before we can be accepted?" then it's a successful letter.
And it's formally written and is nicely planned out.

Im having trouble actually accessing it

Thanks. That's exactly what I'm aiming for.

And yes I will be pretty annoyed if somebody else sends this. This is my letter so I'll mail it.
