Your view is pretty wide since I've heard other people say this same thing. You're correct and the Bible reflects about how things have changed. Women having no rights, Slavery, Stoning, things that were acceptable in the Bible are totally false now.

I mean the big picture. They used "God" to explain the creation of the universe because they couldn't explain it during that time. God is a made up idea by humans to explain everything. It's just like creating a theory that can't be disproved. We cannot disprove the existence of God, nor can we prove His existence. Look up Sigmund Freud's theory on dreams. Everything in his theory is defended by the "ego". Your ego prevents you from knowing about your unconscious. When someone says they don't believe that there is such a thing as your unconscious or this "ego", Freud would defend it by saying "Well, that's your ego preventing you from discovering your unconscious by making you believe it doesn't exist."

Oh I see what I did wrong. I just took atheist and divided it by christian, not adding them both up and dividing atheist by total amount.
The number of votes for both Christian and Atheist is 110.

I was in an argument with a friend of mine who was atheist and gay, and this thick headed christian. What eventually happened after the christian called homoloveuals gross and us beating his "what leviticus says" stuff, my friend dropped his computer and said "You don't know if that was gravity. You can't prove it's anything" What he was basically saying is in science, you can't prove something, only cross out all other options until there's one option left.

part of the problem with the mentality of the abrahamic religions is their entire pull is that you have a permanent, soul reaving fear of punishment for things. it's not a carrot and stick mentality, it's a do-this-or-you-suffer-the-most-you-physically-and-divinely-can. sort of a bad way to do it.
