Excluding from Alaska, seeing the northern lights in the US is pretty rare. Most of the time, the northern lights stay way above 50 degrees north. A solar storm on Thursday has caused the northern lights to extend southward.

I see these all the time cause Im in Alaska. Well. I mean I WOULD see them if I wasnt sleeping when they apparently appear.
