Author Topic: Google, stop trying to make youtube into a social network.  (Read 1902 times)

I don't think very highly of people who depend on a (single) website as their sole source of income.
...why?

Google plus didn't work.

what

google+ is extremely successful and is a great product

Technology is changing. The majority of people don't want different things and places. People want everything in one place. Every software/internet company that knows anything is moving towards centralization. Apple made sure to get their own maps for iStuff. Google is building a social network and they bought YouTube a while ago. Microsoft is doing all sorts of cloud stuff, and their new operating system focuses on bringing together mobile and stationary devices.

...why?
Not only is a bad idea, as you're putting your welfare in the hands of the current google CEOs, but it's also an extremly oversaturated market where you don't contribute much of value to socicity.

I hate that every time I login it tells me I need to change my name, forget no I'm not making my name that everyone sees to my real name

then dont even be logged into youtube when you use it.

the bulk of you dont even upload videos, but you subscribe to channels like a bunch of cigarettes. that is social site'ism...

19 subscribers

and have only subscribed to only 6 channels

Some special youtubers don't have to work a day in their life thanks to youtube fame and stuff like that.

Seems like the life to me.

My point exactly.
Theyre still making good money though?

Theyre still making good money though?
That's the point.
They're not working at all and still making money. That's wrong.
They're not contributing anything, which wouldn't bother me much, except every time they say "comment like subscribe to my vids lol" they're essentially begging. Not to mention there's so many loving let's players it's ridiculous.

Apple's attempt at maps was literally telling people to drive off cliffs.
Windows 8 was a pile of stuff.
And all this cloud stuff is getting annoying.

They are entertaining people and selling ads, that is the equivalent of nearly every single televised thing in history.

Whether or not the maps were good doesn't matter. The point is that they are centralizing.

Loads of people love Windows 8, and whether or not you like the feel of it, the concept is the future.

Clouds are cool.

I've never been watching an episode of Breaking Bad to see Walter come out and ask me to add AMC to my favorites.
Nor do various channels get in e-rooster fights over who has the most subscribers.
(also i have adblock, so pewdiepie williamrayjohnson shoosh and whatever the forget else is popular can go forget themselves)

This "centralizing" thing might be popular now, but that doesn't mean it's the undisputible way of the future. It has its downsides.
