Author Topic: I have a cactus!  (Read 4928 times)

No, not the fat and tall motherforgeters, just this guy:

Got it today from Home Depot, it's known as the "Red-Headed Irishman." Maybe they're from Ireland...? I don't know. Does anyone here have experience with cacti? I got the basics: pot, sunlight, bug spray, that stuff. The people at Home Depot told me that I should water it every 4-5 weeks. That is true for most cacti, but... I'm not sure about this one, many people beg to differ, so I just want to hear what you have to say.

btw, it's name is Curly :)

Show it to marooncacti and he will forget you for free.

Nice name, you should either listen to the guys at home depot, or look up how to look after it on the internet. If you doubt the first one then go for the second one.

gess what i have 3 :D

Googled it.
Comes from Mexico, apparantely. Not Ireland, even if some parts may be like a desert wasteland. :P

It's pretty though.
Now give it a hug.

Awww

Is it a boy or a girl?

A girl, the flowers on top remind me of a cute little bow.

I assume you're the father?

Aww
What will you do about its needles?

We'll get those surgically removed.

i had some fuzzy cacti last year but then i left on vacation for a month and my dad didn't take care of them for me.

right now i have a prickly one with two small cacti next to it, i've had it for a couple of months now. i wished i could've found a fuzzy one again, those were nice to pet and i didn't have to worry about them tipping over and hurting me.

There's like, a trillion cactuses growing all around my house.

Take good care of it, and remember, it doesn't need much water.

Thanks for the tip.

When my mom was a kid, she "killed" her cactus by over-watering it. I don't wanna make the same mistake.
