Well I can bet you, in a long time from now, Earth will be overpopulated; resources will be lacking to an enormous extent, there wouldn't be much room or space left, and thus, we'd have to migrate to a different planet to start out over.

Keep in mind that the world can't get 'physically' over-populated, and what is meant by over-population is actually the fact that our natural resources would run out: resources that don't even exist on mars. I think.

I plan on waiting until the artificial gravity generator gets invented like a spaceship. At that point they will also be able to take off like airplanes so its not a ton of g-force.
