Author Topic: Is this poem I just wrote too inappropriate to give to my teacher?  (Read 933 times)

So we are doing poetry in English and I just wrote this poem, though it is a bit...
weird. It could be taken several ways and depending on the way you read it,  it could be very awkward.
So guys, I have to know, is this too awkward/inappropriate/weird to give to my english teacher?

Quote from: Brian Smith's Poetry
Why do you love me daddy?
Do you love me for the work I do
or the grades I get?
Do you love me because of my potential,
or my physical ability?

Why do you love me mommy?
Do you love me for my smile,
or the kisses I blow you?
Do you love me because I help you cook lunch on the weekends?

Why do you love me God?
Do you love me for what I have done,
or what I will do?
Do you love me because I care for everyone?

Why do I love myself?
Do I love myself because of what I think,
or what I do?

Like I said: weird.

I don't see anything awkward in it.

Better than I could write.

god dosnt exist lol xd11111

a tad odd
just a tad
taaaad

Seems nothing wrong with it to me.

All poems can be taken in multiple ways.
There's no way the poet can plan for every single way it can be read.
If you're happy with it, then you should be fine.

It's nice.
Does it have a title?

yes it will offend your teacher because they dont have parents

that's a very nice poem. at first, when i read "daddy" i thought this was going to be something loveual, but it turned out to be nice.

you could say it reflects on your curiosity of why people love each other and if it's true love.

idk lol

haha ok guys, thanks :).
I just call it "Why do you love me?" @sir dooble.

If you dont have to read it out loud then your fine.
I wrote "big ass house" on a test in my school and got the answer right so, im assuming it will be fine

If you really want inappropriate, make the first letter of every line spell out something.  That's what my friend did with his poem that was shown in a lecture to every student, and it spelled out "Prepare your star fish".
