The beeping is your motherboard's POST. What the beeps mean depends on the kind of beeps and your motherboard's bios. Here is a site with tables of the different post codes. You just need to figure out what BIOS your mobo is, then you can find out if its the keyboard or something worse.

did you check to see if a newer version was released to the one you have now

Can you find me a link I was planning on updating my Bios but don't know how to the model mobo is a Gateway RS780 the bios was updated in 9/15/2009
