if you're being serious right now, it runs on opengl when running on the ps3.  DirectX and OpenGL are APIs, they don't have anything to do with the art other than rendering it.

Yes!  I can't wait for Microsoft to further forget over PC gamers by forcing DirectX on everyone (who, because of MS's bullstuff marketing, believe that DirectX is actually faster/better than OpenGL).  At least it will presumably be running DirectX 11 or 12.

it was, at least in 9, super stuffty and complicated, then fragmented the user base with 10 and 11 (and again with 12, it looks like).  It's also windows exclusive and is controlled by a single entity.  OpenGL has been around for a long time, was developed in part by major graphics companies, and supports just about every platform out there.

You give me a good example of DirectX tesselation in a game (not a benchmark or demo).  I have yet to notice it in any game I've played.

And if my "poor stuff pc" couldn't run DirectX 11 applications, why would I expect OpenGL to be faster?
