It's been roughly nine months since the infection now. With the time given so much research has been made, and so many tragedies have occurred. The death of Donny Pacino left the settlers in Greenwood in peace and brought dignity to the Modernizers. This also allowed for the republic to republic their group. Now, the forest has been quiet for awhile and everything seems done and dusted. However, a new group of extremist preachers have appeared and other military figures have showed up. Not only that but three project directors from Latent still remain, and it would be no coincidence they plan something.
Information left behind Donny Pacino hints at a much bigger picture than simple terrorism, and signs of foreign governments plans to claim american land has become clear. While it may seem like a lot of time is available, on the large scale of things these isn't much time before the investigation becomes impossible with other countries getting in the way. The Republic and the Modernizers have finally allied to investigate further into the bigger picture, and the Bandits still want nothing to do with it. There's going to be a lot of conflict.
