Author Topic: Computer Parts Compatibility  (Read 1828 times)

I'm trying o build myself a gaming computer. This would be the first time I've tried it so I'm not exactly sure what's compatible with what. This is the list of parts as of right now

Current suggested build:

Intel i5-3570k

ASrock Z77 Pro3

nVidia GeForce GTX 670

Windows 7 64bit Home Premium

Nice build, I'm not sure I think it might work but wont recognize the graphics card for mac.

Yeah. I just kinda realized that the GL wasn't Nvida, even though it said GeForce.

IT IS NVIDIA ITS NOT A FAKE

IT STILL WONT RECOGNIZE IT

I have a Mac that has a Nvida.

Is there any way to get the operating system to recognize the GL?

Get the i5 3570k instead of the i7. A normal gamer wont need the SMT of a i7.
And get a 670 GTX instead of the 660Ti.

This will result in a way more balanced system. Since the 660Ti would bottleneck the i7 like hell.

Seems like a resonable suggestion. Is the i5 cheaper than the i7? And what's the price on the GTX 670?

Why would you buy an 3770K and then only a 660?

the i5 will be like 110 dollars cheaper, which you can put towards a better gpu or more RAM

The i5 is around 80$ cheaper and the 670gtx is around 90$ more.

You also could save some money by buying a motherboard from ASrock (Z77 Pro3 or Pro4).

I got the Z77 Pro3, one of the cheapest Z77 boards and its perfectly stable.
And its powerfull enough to overclock my i5 to 4.5Ghz wich is a good result for a Ivy Bridge CPU.

I'll consider it but I'd rater stick with Intel.

Back the the GPU, would Mac recognize the GTX 670 and if not what will it recognize/is there a way to force it to recognize the GPU?

are you an idiot?

buy an asrock or asus motherboard because seriously, intel isn't the only option.

i hope you did not assume the i5 was not from intel.

also, no matter what you pick you will not be able to run mac os x on that pc.

I don't know much about computers and I really want to have Mac. The reason I want to stick with intel is because I've seen Intels run Macs and I have to see about the compatibility of the ASrock and the GPU along with finding another chip for the ASroxk if the motherboard doesn't come with one.
