The more hats, the more processing power needed to constantly render them.
There would have to be hundreds of hidden hats for that to really have a large effect on performance, unless you play Blockland on a toaster.

Plus, what's wrong with the current hats? We don't need more crap on our Blockheads, and you can always get Decal and Face packs.

But only people who have the same face/decal pack would be able to see it.

I can see that point, but at the same time, customisation isn't something to turn away from.

We can customise loads of things in-game, with custom sounds, music, bricks, prints, emitters, lights, weapons, projectiles, events, even the environment and so on.

But when it comes to the player models (which are an important part of Blockland), we only have a few things we can customise in comparison to the many other things we can customise
A few back-pack items, two types of arms, two types of torso, two types of hands, two types of feet, two types of legs, a few shoulder pieces and the 4 or so hats.
We can change the colour of them too.

And then the only thing that we can modify at all with third-party additions is two decals.
One for the face and one for the torso.
And neither of those go all the way around the body. So, no matter what, the detail on your head is only customisable on 1/6th of it's surfaces, as is the body.

Even the ability to add a decal onto the Full-head helmet would be a great addition.
Then you could atleast have one other large area to customise, by adding things like racing stripes, or logo's or additional details (Think pipes and things for space-helmets).


I personally would love if the Blockhead got a bit of TLC and had a touch-up.
But I can also see how other people would prefer more pressing updates, like updating vehicle physics and whatnot.

Let the tf2 F2P's roll in.

It's because the Avatar Saver v8 function for converting an avatar to copyable text can only support up to seven hats. That's totally the reason that Badspot has never added more hats - he somehow knew my mod would have this limit.

..no...no he really can't. Shaper is such a tremendous peice of stuff and torque importing and exporting is like stepping on razorblades made out of 2x4 lego bricks.

Import DTS > Export MS3D ASCII, in Milkshape 3D > Import MS3D ASCII > Tools > Scale All until properly sized

Done, although smoothing groups may be broken in the process

You can import DSQ files and export them along with the model as a MS3D ASCII and the log even says it exports the skeleton and animations, the animations can't be played in MS3D though, either the animations break once imported into MS3D, or i'm doing something wrong

Badspot also lost the original player files according to Ephialtes.
How do you lose the files when they're in the game? Can't he just kinda rip it out of the game files?

the ones in the game files are already converted and can't really be worked with well

Wow another limit, I'm not suprised. This game is just full of em....how long ago did Badspot say porting Blockland to the new torque engine was useless? (Most likely this was said before T3D was announced)
