Author Topic: Help me find a way to give this cat a message.  (Read 3867 times)

So I like to feed my cat. I do it every day. Things are great. But then suddenly within the last few weeks this big black sleek cat has been bullying my cat out of its food by coming up onto the deck. Unfortunately my cat seems to not eat whenever it's indoors so bringing the food in is out of the question. This has in turn been costing me money and keeping my cat from eating. I buy my catfood to feed MY CAT. So when this other cat starts eating it there's going to be problems. It's a collar-less stray. And I don't care if it's a home owned cat without a collar. If it doesn't have a collar I WILL go after it. My cat is too much of a... coward to fight it off.

Things I have done:

I have moved the food to a different location: The starfish of a cat just finds it again.

I have chased the larger cat away multiple times: Still comes back.

I have tossed a rock to spook it: Un-phased as usual.

I have blocked off the area to the food: He always finds a way around

Things I have not yet tried:

Calling animal control: For some reason I don't want to, I feel like they wouldn't give a stuff if I did. And it would probably cost me something

Popping it with a non-lethal airsoft gun: I will eventually do this if other solutions do not work. I'm gonna have to sting it just so it will go away.

Keeping a waterhose secretly rigged to a small rope: I fancy this idea, but I think my area only has one faucet and my hose probably isn't long enough.

Things I won't do:

Kill it: Of course I'm not going to do that. Its just trying to find some food but unfortunately I don't have the budget for two cats and I don't like this one because it's been beating up my cat.

Wound it with something that can break its skin: That would just hurt. and I wouldn't feel good on the inside.

Blunt force traumatize it: Don't want to hurt any of its internal organs.

Leave it alone: I will not leave this cat alone. It has to go.

I'm open to more ideas if anyone has any...

BB gun the cat in its ass, it will be gone for good. (Not dead)
Make sure to put a few pumps into the gun as well.
If its becoming a true issue punt it like a football.

this.

nerf darts
That won't teach it. Needs more power.

Trust me, I tend to deal with animals in my yard. BB guns usually fix the problem.

There was once a small gray cat we called "Smokey" that visits our porch during the night

Then I saw that it got ran over.

If traffic doesn't work for you then just smack him with a BB and be on your way.

Kick it in its tiny kidney.

When the cat comes over, take a cardboard box and throw it over the cat haha

or a laundry basket

That is completely idiotic and asinine. Shooting a cat in the ass with a BB gun is animal abuse, pure and simple. It could kill it due to blood loss, or at the least scar it.

...by maiming them painfully

I said a BB not hunting pellets. Not once in my life have I ever seen a BB actually pierce the skin of an animal, as long as you don't pump it to where its like a .22 rifle than it shouldn't.

2 steps

1. shovel
2. dig dirt

What? Do you know anything about BB guns?

Yes, I have owned many and used many. I own one now but it needs a replacement part.

Also why are you only targeting me and not the others who said the same thing?

A less.. Painful option may be to throw water at it. Kitties hate that.
