Fraps & Sony Vegas Pro
Same here, its a match made in heaven

fraps and sony vegas amazing rainbow edition III only $999.99!

Fraps and Sony vegas- but you can get a cheaper version of sony vegas if you get Sony Vegas Movie studio, then it's only 60-100$ rather than a thousand.
You can get by with the Fraps Demo and WMM, but it won't be near as good. But it's good for beginners I guess

youtube wont let me upload .avi videos anymore to my account, so that's why i stopped making videos

anyways fraps and windows live movie maker
use .mp4

fraps and sony vegas amazing rainbow edition III only $999.99!
And that's why I have to use WMM.
UNLESSSSS
You could get one of the consumer versions of Sony Vegas, they're only about $50 compared to their professional versions that cost hundreds.
Where might I be able to find this.

It's more around $70, sorry. But other versions of it vary in price, so look around.

FYI it works virtually the same just it doesn't have all the professional features.

professional features.
I could probably guess what they are, but what exactly are these?

I use Fraps and Windows Live Movie Maker
Kill me
actually WLMM is not that bad, it just can't do more complicated things

I could probably guess what they are, but what exactly are these?
To be completely honest, I don't really know. I've tried the professional version before, and I couldn't really notice any significant differences between it and the Movie Studio version. Maybe the licensing is different?

Fraps. I don't use any editing program whatsoever.

I like MSI works good no lag

Windows Movie Maker isn't BAD, But it doesn't have as many functions as Sony Vegas does.
I use Fraps and Sony Vegas.

For recording:
Fraps (It's Free!)

For editing:
Sony (This Costs Money!)

If you just want to make a video and upload it to YouTube, just use Movie Studio 11.
If you actually want your video to be good quality, use Movie Studio Platinum 12 or the Suite version if you have the money.
If you're rich and powerful, buy one of the Sony Vegas programs.
The Movie Studio programs do have demos that you can use for free until you get the money.

(I know what you're thinking - buy all of them and have the ultimate Sony video editing system.  NO!  They are all completely different editing programs.  You should only buy one.)

OPTIONAL, HOWEVER RECOMMENDED IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY
(These you can all buy to "improve" your video after it's already been edited.)
If you want AMAZING visual affects, also get Movie Studio Platinum Visual Effects 2 and/or Imagination Studio 4.

If you for some reason want to put some of your videos on DVD or Blu-Ray, also use DVD Architect Studio 5.0.

If you don't know how any of this stuff works, you can get Vegas Pro Production Assistant and/or The Seminar Series: Vegas Pro 12.
