Most of the founding fathers said that owning weapons was necessary to prevent another tyranical government from rising up. Think they are wrong? Here is another warning that was not heeded. One founding father in particular said that political parties would only divide the people and cause people to hate each other. No one listened and now all see on the internet are liberals and conservative arguing with each other and each with the mindset that they are smarter and better than the competition. Both sides are programed to think "If you don't think like me, act like me, or agree with me- You are my enemy and therefore your argument is invalid". This argument doesn't hold water. Nowadays, with modern tech and weapons (Drones, etc.) there'd be no way the populace would avoid that. The US military could take whatever they please, you think a couple thousand people with AR-15s would stop them?

And you know what be nice? If we could all just sit down and have a talk about politics and such, without guns, or drones, or nukes. That is what they're supposed to do, and they do it. But if you have a rebellion with any significant weight, then you have defectors within the military, and if you start bombing your own cities and have innocent casualties, then people start realizing your regime is insane. And then they join the rebels.
