There are no advantages to it. It only seems to create social outcasts who have no friends.
You obviously know very little about Home schooling...
Well OP, I'll explain. ( I'm e-schooled and I tend to get defensive about this).
Home schooling doesn't mean you'll be a social outcast, it depends on what kind of person you are. If your the kind who huddles in a corner cause they are too lazy to open the door and say "Hello" to someone, or ride their bike 5 mins into town, then you will be a little socially awkward, and you won't have many friends. However, if you put yourself out there and actually attempt to make friends, you'll have friends just like in Public school, I've seen so many people that I couldn't tell if they were home schooled or public schooled, they seemed normal. Homeschooling usually ends up to be for kids who are working too fast in the public school and want to work at their own pace, or they were bullied, or they weren't concentrating / working fast enough in the public classroom. E-Schooling and Traditional Home schooling are almost completely different, the only 2 things they have in common is that you are at home and not in a brick school. E-School can be better for those who are scared of not making friends, because it's an online public school, you still meet people. And your forced to go to school outings (Such as go bowling, school trips, etc)... And for testing, you go to a building and take your tests. In normal home schooling you don't get your High school diploma, you get your GED, which is generally worse than a High school diploma, E-Schools, will graduate you with a class, you actually get to go the ceremony, and you get a diploma. Don't get my wrong, I'm not against Home schooling at all. I'm not all out for E-Schooling, they are both great. And you can still go to college and such with a GED. In traditional home schooling, your usually taught by your parents, but most parents will hire a tutor or get you a computer program. In E-School you have multiple certified teachers. Your parents only make sure you do your work. Yes, grades count. Forgot to add, that it also depends on what environment your in, if you have over-protective parents that like to shelter their child from society, than it will suck. If your parents have morals and aren't super protective, it could be the best time of your life, however most parents feel like they are doing their child good by stopping them from having lives, thus making their child resent Home schooling and their parents. So if you want to go home schooling, tell your parents to stop being over-protective and stop being handicapped.
so what happens if your parents are handicaps? do you get taught to be handicapped?
No, usually traditional home schooling has an online program that teaches you, and then your parents help.
