Tumblr is probably worth too much for them to close right off. They'll probably transfer it's services over to a 'yahoo' themed site and basically switch the users over. In this case, the site should work essentially the same, but just be under the yahoo brand name.

Personally, I would welcome such a decision.
At the very least it'd stop my sister from looking at Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's yaoi and stuff
