Is it just me who does not give a crap if someone is monitoring my browsing?

I mean I'm not doing anything worth hiding really.

yeah, if you did nothing wrong there's no reason this should bother you.

kind-of like that whole "anti-piracy" cluster-storm that happened about a year ago, "if you're whining about it, don't loving pirate games, that's all you have to do."

and now it's;

"if you're whining about them tracking what you search, they're making sure you don't end up searching things like "easy ways to get a firearm" or "how2makepipebomb"

ye roight
why the forget are so many americans so paranoid about everything?
Yeah, I'm beginning to get this viewpoint
Everyone seems paranoid about something. Aliens, government conspiracies, viruses in every website on the internet, monsters, witches, you name it
I know there are definitely some things to be worried about, but people today seem to go way overboard probably because it's fun to make little things seem huge and be a little scared about things

Australians have their fair share of issues.  Ours just happens to be complete government take over.

Yeah, this is getting pretty ridiculous, how many people are scared over such little things like this.

I really don't give 2 stuffs if google can see every one of my emails, searches.

Hell, if they figure out my entire life, I still wont care.

(Not trying to be dismissive over the topic, just over google)

Blockland Forums: home of the best metaphors and similes in town
that wasn't a metaphor or a simile though

Google is an Internet advertisement company. When they find out data about me, they use it to give me better ads. This means that both me and the advertisers are more happy. If Google wanted to, however, I'm sure they could find out almost everything about me and track what I do. Unfortunately for conspiracy theorists, the reality is that Google is a company and I doubt that tracking everything about everyone is on their lists of good returns on investment. And even if they did track everything about everyone, the worst they could do is bring criminals to justice, which is completely okay with me.

To build off of that, they also custom tote some of their search results based on your "profile". So when you search something vague, it can make a reasonable expectation of the kind of results you're looking for. Extremely useful if you only kinda know what you're looking for. Because I doubt anyone searches for something unless they're interested in what they're searching for.

I love that about Google.

Of course they do. They also trick you into believing you're finding things for yourself when you're actually being manipulated.

The people that say if you're not doing anything wrong you shouldn't care are loving idiots. "Let's give up all privacy since I'm not doing anything wrong!"
