Author Topic: problems with RTB  (Read 793 times)

so a few weeks back, i uploaded a mod to RTB. its a mini-empires brick pack which is pretty high-quality in my opinion.
you can look at pictures here - http://imgur.com/TZnFs2Z,SSe3DKt,VNQ1wQj,kpBpRvI

after waiting a week with it not being accepted, i tried to find ephi, and after about 3 days i found him in badspot's block party or some other server.
i asked him what was wrong, and he pointed out that he didn't like some brick, so i removed it.
after re-uploading the mod with some updated bricks and fixes, i wait even more. i cant loving find ephi anywhere to ask him why he isn't accepting my mod
i just want to know why ephi isn't using the "issues" thing on RTB upload, so he could directly tell me issues to fix through the RTB manager
i put a lot of effort into this pack, and i want people to use it

release on forums in meantime?

release on forums in meantime?
i mean this only means that ephi found some kind of issue that could be major, making this mod not ready for release
the annoything thing is he that he isn't loving telling me, the creator of the mod, about it

I explained very clearly exactly what was wrong with a 1x1 brick that uses 500 quads and it frustrates me that you'd go around telling people it was because I didn't like one of your bricks because that makes me sound like a twat. It also frustrates me that you've been stalking me on servers when I'm trying to play a game and enjoy myself bizarrely thinking I'm obliged to sit in servers and listen to impatient starfishs pester me about bullstuff when you could just send me a PM or an email I can reply to in my own time, you know - like normal people do?

Your add-on is still using an absolutely unacceptable number of quads - you've just thrown the minifig dts into the obj converter for a 1x1 model person which is exactly what I feared was going to happen when the converter was released. I'm now having to spend time re-writing the scan rules for bricks to catch crazy people trying to submit add-ons that use thousands of quads for a few bricks - and that's time wasted on top of the time I already barely have for going through add-on approvals.

All I've got the time for right now is approving the add-ons I don't see an issue with. Providing feedback is just going to have to wait until I've got more mod reviewers to help out. I hope this clears things up for you.

Are you going to be starting a signup sheet or something?
'Cause I would love to test mods this summer.

There's some work to be done to improve the backend a bit to make it easier for new reviewers to use, and to also clear out the existing queue which stretches back a few months atleast.

I've got a list of people I've picked to be reviewers already but I'm definitely on the lookout for more given that most reviewers last a month and then quit or kill themselves. It's less about testing mods and more about understanding that this piece of code is going to run servers into the ground, or 50 of those bricks is going to half a player's FPS.

Then you explode them. GG.

I don't think Id be too good at picking out bad code by looking at it..
I'd still be willing to try though.

I'd defo sign up for reviewing if I could.

Jumping on this opportunity too

really no point in going for it if you aren't capable of anything beyond pointing and screaming "DOESN'T WORkool kids klub"

until I've got more mod reviewers to help out
I'd be willing to help
