Author Topic: New Xbox Requires Kinetic (Webcam) To Use - Won't Work Without It  (Read 2767 times)

not saying it's a good console--we don't know yet--it's just that this complaint is silly
Yeah.. The only real issue I see with the Kinect being required is that the cost is going to be like- twice what it would've been. It seems silly that the Xbox isn't functional without one, which could cause issues in specific situations, but for the most part it's not a huge deal

There is no need to be paranoid about people watching you when you use Kinect. It isn't like the camera will send data over wi-fi all the time.

Seriously, if you're complaining about this, you're just like Lord Tony over Sony vs. Nintendo.

kinda like how the wii requires the sensor bar
Not really. There are some games out there that allow the Classic Controller.

Heck, you can control the main menu with a classic controller if you wanted to.

A lot of people are going to buy it, and realize this console is stuff.

Gaming companies really need to be kicked in the ass but the gaming community can't handle boycott's or the sort for stuff, they just want to play games and paying out the ass and complying to bullstuff simply doesn't piss them off enough to do anything

Wtf? You have a right not to buy the console. Are you stupid or what?
I didn't say you are forced to buy it, but is the camera necessary. No it is not. Do I play with consoles. No, but my little brother does.

Welp at least I know I'm going with the PS4 for sure now

lets just take this in - an xbox 360 (8 years old) goes for maybe $300 with a kinect ($400 if you want actual storage.) if this thing (w/ better hardware and software) includes the kinect (which it will if they make it required) could make the xbox one $500+

or, you know, the games could be $80-$100

Not really, Xbox has a controller that doesn't need it, Wii NEEDED it to actually be controllable.
not really, the Wii could work without the sensor bar if you plugged up a classic controller, which could be used to play some of the better Wii games, and some nintendo64/snes games

The kinect is a nice feature to the Xbox, I wouldn't be surprised if more games began to be designed around it. It has the potential to be really fun.

"Kinect does require to be connected to Xbox One in all cases"

Not really. There are some games out there that allow the Classic Controller.
yeah that's true
but most games will use the wii remote as the primary intended controller
and the classic controller is an accessory; it doesn't really count since it doesn't come with the console
