Author Topic: Xbox 360 Emulation - Red Dead Redemption of course.  (Read 3990 times)

So I just sold my Xbox that I got free with my laptop, and I still have my one and only game, Red Dead Redemption. I was wondering how safe emulation is, and if you guys have any recommended sites that offer the software.

Sounds slightly illegal?
Or am I being stupid

I'd recommend coolrom, but they don't have 360 emulators (or even regular xbox roms) and I have a feeling you don't actually own the game.
Ninja: Just get it on PC.

Eh, not particularly. I own the game, I'm not playing for free by an stretch of the imagination.

I'm asking for an Xbox emulator and you've provided something without one. Good job.

I do have it, if you want a picture I'll provide.

It's not on PC.

I was more thinking that it means that you don't have to pay for an Xbox 360
So probably

If Xbox 360 emulation was possible everybody with a PC would be doing it by now.

i'm pretty sure there is no such thing, and even if there were, it would almost certainly run like stuffe

Did you read the Wikipedia page? I own the game, so emulation is fine in the U.S.
Quote
This led to an effort by console manufacturers to stop unofficial emulation, but consistent failures such as Sega v. Accolade 977 F.2d 1510 (9th Cir. 1992), Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. v. Connectix Corporation 203 F.3d 596 (2000), and Sony Computer Entertainment America v. Bleem 214 F.3d 1022 (2000)[1], have had the opposite effect. According to all legal precedents, emulation is legal within the United States. However, unauthorized distribution of copyrighted code remains illegal, according to both country specific copyright and international copyright law under the Berne Convention.[2] Obtaining games through methods not authorized by the developer or publisher is illegal in the United States.
