Is there a way to make non-static tracks that isn't just a visual effect?
If someone can make the most realistic tank ever for Blockland, I will give you all of my love forever.
I want a tank that:
1: Has a turret that moves slowly, like real tank turrets. (I know that can go a decent speed, but it should be capped, you shouldn't be able to do a 360 degree turn in one second)
2: Has treads that can bend and flex around objects so bumpy terrain is easy to navigate
3: Has a low center of gravity and is less prone to the unrealistic constant "turtling" of tanks.
4: Has realistic sound effects for driving at different speeds, on different terrain (Based on color of terrain?), realistic tank fire and reload sounds, realistic sounds for stopping, turning, turret movement, etc.
5: Has realistic interior and hud (I don't expect perfection, but at least the basic HUD on the gunner's position would be nice)
Realistic armor is perhaps entirely impossible. It's just the way torque works. Real tanks don't have "Health". A shell can bounce off, penetrate, explode on contact, or otherwise. Having a tank with segmented parts that can be damaged individually is completely impossible, i'm sure. (IE: Tank treads get shot, right tread no longer works)
I know this is asking more than anyone has ever done, but that's perhaps why I'm challenging someone out there to do this. I'll post a similar message of this onto the forums to see if anyone is interested.
