One thing Proteus would be good for is a screensaver.
Imagine a screensaver like Proteus: It would also rain/be night etc. based on local data. It would be awesome.
And I am saying that being a hater of screensavers and not even using one. I would use a Proteus screensaver though.

Are people even using screensavers anymore? I thought screensavers became obsolete with the introduction of modern monitors. I haven't used a screensaver in 5-6 years.

Same. And as I said I hate and never used screensavers.
But I would enable the power saving feature and put Proteus as a screensaver just because it's awesome like that.

the cutter in tiny and big is fun, i cut up the whole first area then the game crashed

I much preferred Dear Esther, the story was a lot more entertaining than whatever Proteus was trying to offer

I played all the way through Dear Esther because it interested me, I quit Proteus after like 5 minutes because despite how nice it looked and sounded it was boring as hell

I got to the very top of the pyramid in level 4 and right as I was halfway through cutting one of the slabs it crashed and I had to restart my computer to get rid of it because it refused to close under any circumstances

Needless to say it's an otherwise outstanding game

How? Dear Esther is exactly the same thing but with realistic graphics and a story.

I know Proteus is going for the colourful look, but it just... Didnt do what Dear Esther did for me.
