After about a while they removed the bullet from my back and bandaged me up pretty well and some other things then said it'll all heal up in a couple more days, as long as I don't fall from tall heights on my back or get shot in the very same place then I should be fine. I walked out and got my clothing and then walked out of the hospital. I began to walk back to the police department. I had to. Just one more payday and my wife would probably stop rambling about how she had to have the "Nice hotel room in goodyear.". Apparently they also allow cats, so they'll probably let Patches in. What i'm worrying about is who lives in it. After thinking for a while I arrived at the police department, was greeted by some used-to-be-partners and then got a handshake from one of the commanders who welcomed me back. I arrived to some locker room, walked over to my locker, and got my uniform, jacket, pants, all that. I straightened my hat and made sure my badge was still on. It was. I then walked out and into the parking lot. It seemed to have started raining. I walked over to my squad car and got in. "10-8" "Copy." "Beginning patrol." And very soon there was a call. "We have a shooter at Goodyear's Zip's Cheap Clothes." "Copy that, get me two other squad cars to reinforce. I got shot once and i'm not taking the risk again." "Copy." Very soon as I drove into Goodyear, the clothing store was just a few blocks away. I could hear gunfire already under the sirens. Two other squad cars joined me, both had two officers in them. And another one with only one officer in it joined because he had nothing better to do. We began to arrive at the scene, and I talked into my radio "217." "Copy." I heard dispatch say. Soon I heard over her again. "Scratch that destination to the store, there's gunfire in the streets. Civilians in danger." "Copy that, get more units to surround the streets and block off their escapes. Including alleyways." I could already see the squad cars beginning to drive past the scene by two streets and block off stops. We began to arrive at the shootout, the gunshots being quite loud now under my sirens. I could hear one of the megaphones from the car saying "Hold it there! Drop your weapons now!" It was obvious it wasn't going to do anything. I checked my glock, M14, and shotgun. Both were loaded and ready.
