The boy, surprised, shoots a gas pipe. The pipe, ruptured, sprayed propane into the building. He then tried to shoot Kate, but missed and hit the stove behind her. Igniting the pilot light, which in turn detonates the gas in the room.
The explosion kills everyone instantly. No signs of a struggle, but simply a smoldering crater. The explosion had also detonated the gas tanks near the gas pumps, exploding with monumental force. Passers-by notice the explosion, and notify police.
As the police arrive...
