Find a blank starter and fill it in yourself the best you can. Then give that to an artist for a proper ref sheet

Just do what I did: find free line art and color it

that would be a good way to show them like, color patterns and stuff, but I don't think it'll help with anatomy

why else would I want a ref sheet for a whole species?!

I think a good route to take would be getting someone to model it. at that point I'd be able to make small changes to it myself without much trouble, and making the textures for the colors would be relatively simple compared to editing a drawing (as far as I'm concerned)
but I don't even kind of know how much people charge for that lol, or for that matter where to look for such a person
