I've rarely hear someone completely deny it being a part of it, only saying that it's not all there is to it.
There's just as much entirely innocent artwork posted in this thread as there is 'suggestive' stuff.
It's definitely possible, and there are a lot of people who do, participate in the fandom without having any interest in anything loveual.
Just about any large fandom has a significant loveual side to it, just looks at all the "Hot Anime Girl/Guy" threads

so far there's been only 2-4 female pictures. the rest are gay.

The majority of furries are either gay or bi (and most bi people I know still prefer same-love).
Probably more if you don't count females.
