I'm not sure badspot can even do that. I know he can remove your avatar or change it but I've never heard of him being able to only prevent you from changing it

He removes your avatar by deleting your current one then removing access to changing it. Like my old account.
Maybe he just revoked his access without removing his current? I dunno.

what was the reason for it, because if it was because you used some avatar badspot didn't particularly like, then i'm wondering why he would change it to what you have now

unless it was bad, you changed it, he had noticed what it had been previously and then disabled your ability to change it, in which case that makes sense.
