Small ones are fine imo. When they literally start stretching your ears to all hell, that's when it becomes an absolute joke. Something cool I've seen with small guages are putting a small hoop through them.

Hehe nah it's just a little staple to my fursona. I don't remember why I gave him that but I just kept it because I thought it was cool.
