however i'd still like to point out there are some pretty big signs that the sun is directly to the right and up from the trees, and that the shadows are pointing almost directly westward; but your character has a shadow that falls northwest suggesting the sun is behind the cameraman. the two shadows conflict.

Oh, it's because the shadow's not going that way. I did a bubble shadow on the ground and it ended up looking like it was going that way. That's my bad.
