That would make each of my tabs harder to go through, since I actually go through the tabs one-by-one to favorite each of those submissions.

Afterwards, right-clicking and choosing "Close other tabs to right" is easy enough. Tab grouping seems like one of those features that the devs added in just because it would seem nice and convenient in practice, but is actually unnecessary. To each their own, though.

i just open everything in a new tab and then close the tab after i've favorited it which is efficient enough for me

I used to do that, except performing actions in "bunches" or groups is usually faster than performing them one after another, because your mind's focus changes less often.

i can't think of any reason why to not delete notifications other than just for the sake of making the number bigger
