Make connections. A gas station also works, but I don't know many gas stations that sell books that aren't magazines or other tabloids. Think for a moment, and tell yourself "what do I see when I see a drawing book?"
"what do I see when I see a drawing book?" simple, I think of a book. I don't associate it with anywhere. And I've seen gas stations with normal books.

Okay, you think book. Look for a place that sells books.

And I've seen gas stations with normal books.
Okay, add that to your list of "what stores sell books". Now search for a Michaels gas station.
Search for "michaels gas station" returns local non-chain stores. I don't think largely unrelated people would be talking about a store as if it were common knowledge if it was, say, a mom-and-pop store in a rural town.

Why would I go through all that searching if I can just ask what it is? That seems like a lot of pointless searching just to find the origin of a book when I can just ask someone who knows.

It would take the same amount of time to search, or ask.

If the time is the same than why not go with a simpler solution that will allow you to get what you want? Either way I'd have to ask if the store I found was the right one.

Box
I should have taken a picture of my box
But I threw it out outside and just brought the contents in

Hey, speaking of fursuits, who knows where I can buy one in NY?
You don't just go to a store and buy one lol
You commission them from an artist

Exactly how I got my fursuit in the first place.

I suppose that its possible if you don't want it to be customized. Or the exact size of your body.

I guess if you want to be broad, a costume from Spirit could be a "Fursuit"

Are we done discussing books or did you just forget to reply? ;-;

How long could a custom suit take and how expensive can it get? I'm limited to 500 USD this trip.

Lol customs go upwards 1k.

Tails is very popular, and more people are willing to buy a suit of him. This also means large amounts can be made, and the cost will benefit from economies of scale. I'm assuming it was also made of fleece or something else that's much cheaper than faux fur
For personal characters, you're looking at individually, hand made suits, made with more expensive, higher quality materials. You commission them online from artists, and they cost a ton more

Lol customs go upwards 1k.
1k is a usually very bottom level, cheap suit. For a quality one, probably 1500 minimum

For a half suit you can pay $200-500. But half suits are gey

Thanks Cristina for the inflation. >:C
