Clarissa is what's known as a "shaver" or "fleshie" - a furry who wishes to become human. It is a variety of Species Identity Disorder, and Clarissa is a typical case, having always felt like her body was wrong and did not fit her whole life. As a child she had very serious depression, resulting in lots of self-destructive behavior and Self Delete attempts. She has stabilized by now, but is still hit with a serious depression now and then as a result of her body.     Species reassignment surgery is expensive and time-consuming, but it is her life dream, already began with her habitual removal of her fur (she actually uses a hair removal cream, not a razor).     Years ago, her parents divorced. She visits her father every other weekend and has grown quite fond of her father's new family.
