I feel like if people would quit being so ignorant the furry hate wouldn't be as big. Most if not all of the hate comes from the idea that Furry = Yiff all day everyday and thats all it is.

actually most of the hate IRL comes from people thinking that furry == zoophile

fursuiters don't exactly help the fandom's reputation either (though I can't really say much about that without being a hypocrite)

The suits don't make much of a difference, its no different than someone who dresses all hipster as forget or whatever. Well aside from the fact that one is a giant animal costume.

They do it at special events
And yeah it is weird lol. But a considerable amount of people also realize they're just having fun and not hurting anyone, and are even able to have fun themselves. You can find all sorts of videos of suiting outside of cons and lots of people are getting hugs and pics and all sorts of stuff

in total i've got like around 50 pieces of flat/fem fanart saved in my folders
