do you know what the age of consent is... 13 year olds can already do it with 15 or 16 year olds and it doesn't really matter. but if the age of consent was 13 then 30 year olds could legally do it with 13 year olds..... ew..........

At 13 most boys/girls are still in puberty and loveual intercourse at that age could create LOTS of problems. Like for example, 13yr old is pregnant how is she supposed to raise the child if the 13yr old even lives? 30yr olds who can legally have love with a 15yr old, etc, etc...

IMO Legal Age of consent should be 18 or 20 in ALL states

In my honest, maybe too overly open-minded opinion... I don't really care what the age of consent is, whether it's 18, 13, or god forbid, even lower.

Obviously, like in Foxscotch's example, a 30 year old doing it with a 13 year old is generally unaccepted, but in my mind, if both parties are fine and consenting to it, I personally don't give a stuff what they do.

But of course, with a child that young, this won't usually be the case, and rape is pretty much always objectively wrong, regardless of who is involved, age, gender, whatever. It's probably because of this that the consented age is so high here. On the other hand, isn't it society's fault for treating love like this super taboo thing only for the adultest of adults? Isn't it society's fault that so many kids are nervous and outright terrified of the idea?

Really if love education were a more commonplace thing our age of consent wouldn't need to be this high at all.

Come to the argentinian province once. You can see 14y/o mothers almost everywhere. It's not uncommon in rural areas.
