for some reason you have to invite someone as you're creating the group in order to create a telegram group, so
someone who wants to join tell me their telegram username (or pm it to me) so I can add you in order to create the group (or idc just message me on telegram yourself foxscotch)

also you have to have a working phone that can receive texts or calls to sign up for telegram. nobody else sees your number though (unless you share your contact info with them) so don't worry about that

edit: also even if you DONT want to join still tell me your telegram username because I only talk to like 3 people on telegram and telegram is great

edit again: telegram has stickers. lots of them. lots of furry stickers. so if you think you'd like something called "furry stickers" there's yet another reason to use telegram

the phone number is there so you can validate your account. also, if someone you know has your phone number, they can use your phone number to get your telegram username-- but otherwise, your phone number isn't publicly visible

EDIT: if you share contact details with someone I believe it actually tells them your phone number, but you can just message others anyway without sharing

there have been a couple of researchographic things, but I don't think I'd say it's "filled"
it's a supergroup, so you can see the chat history (at least up to the point where I converted it into a supergroup), and decide for yourself
