note, also, that the list for the US is only school shootings. australia doesn't even have its own page for school shootings

Australia population count: 23,633,268
US population count: 318,689,878

hmmmmm.....

the US has had 132 school shootings since the last one australia had
that population difference would be a decent point if the US only had 15 times as many as Australia. but no, it's had 132 times as many

That's not the fault of guns. That's the fault of Bans Guns signs, as those signs translate to "this building is completely defenseless"

Stop loving arguing you pricks

I'm still surprised Night Fox has lasted this long. His point was proven wrong long ago and he's still defending himself.

At this point it would be best for somebody to make a drama topic so people can get back to the cringe material

I had a nice post about non-lethal weaponry all prepared, but then the debate ended :/

not even remotely close to the number taken

there is a difference between peace and fear. there is a reason we call the cold war the "cold war" despite a lack of combat
if someone is pointing a gun at me of course I'm not going to fight back. but by no means is the relationship between that person and I "peaceful"guns are the problem

look at this list
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school_shootings_in_the_United_States#2000s
then look at this one, for a country with stricter firearm laws
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_mass_murders

Now by "not even remotely close to the number taken" I'm assuming you are also including wars, so you have a point.

Please tell me when I said how "peace through superior firepower" in any way implies a friendly relationship?

Just because two countries are on edge that doesn't mean there isn't some form of peace.

Oh and since you want to bring up the effects of gun laws, care to explain why Switzerland, which iirc has the most guns per person in the entire world, is one of, if not the safest country to live in?  Also care to explain why the states in America with the most restrictive gun laws have the worst gun violence?

Yeah school shootings are terrible and we should do something about them but is banning guns really the way to go about it?  Is removing the protective device from the hands of a potential victim really what we should do? (No im not saying arm students) With the huge underground firearms market in America, banning guns wouldn't really work, because law abiding citizens would be unarmed and the bad guys would still get there guns illegally.

(if my argument seems kind of broken and seems like it has a lot of holes in it sorry im tired af)
