Author Topic: New Server Idea: Nuclear Power Plant RP  (Read 4402 times)

(Disclaimer: i know that this has been done before, and it did not turn out well. this was due to the poor structure of the server's minigame and the overall poor build, which was extremely small and did not have the eventing or structure to make the game more interesting and realistic like the title would suggest. so please don't flame me because i damn well know its been done before.)

the idea:
a nuclear power plant roleplay that is essentially you doing a job. however, instead of it just being the job and nothing else, you have pay and then after pay you pay rent for an on-site apartment in one of the Greenwood Nuclear Power Plant (GNPP) Apartment Complexes (either 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, or 4A, 4B. The floors are A1F, A2F, A3F, A4F, A5F, B1F, B2F, B3F, B4F, B5F ETC) built tough by Vanderbilt Building Enterprises & Co. With the money you also buy new job ranks that you still must apply for, so you may lose the money in the process, and you have to pay for food etc.

So let's skip right to the chase with the jobs:

Janitor - A free job where you get paid $20/night, cleaning up trash and residue.
Intern - A free job where you get paid $15/night but have easier access to jobs like Engineer & hazmat. You're just a normal intern, so you're basically just following everyone.
Security - You make sure the plant is secure from criminals. $50 initial investment, $20/night. You get a gun, but you can't shoot anyone who wasn't made wanted.
Engineer - You are a regular engineer who makes sure everything is operating correctly, $60/night, $150 initial investment.
Hazmat - You make sure everything is safe and get rid of any nuclear problems. Initial investment $200, $20/night plus $75 per time you need to solve a problem.
Engineer Manager - You manage the engineers. $250 initial investment, $55/night.
Engineer Boss - You boss every engineer job around, if you make a slip-up you get a cut of $30. $550 initial investment, $75/night.
Low-level Scientists - You invent new things for the company and you solve problems like an engineer. You work in the Command Center. $600 initial investment, $100/thing invented, $100 problem solved $30/night
Mid-level Scientists - You do what Low-Level scientists do, but you have more tools to your advantage and can boss around Low-Level scientists. $675 initial investment, $125/thing invented, $125 problem, $45 per night
Biohazard Scientist - Read Mid-Level, but you deal with more serious things. $175/thing invented, $175/problem, $55/night, initial investment $750
Manager - Manage all the jobs (make them work hard, nothing else.) $1000 initial investment, $75/night
Health Inspector - Inspect the building, make sure it's safe. $1500 initial investment, $150/night
Meltdown Security - Make sure there is no meltdown and make sure it's safe when there is one. $2000 initial investment, $200/problem
Lawyer - For every safety problem or lawsuit $1000 pay, $3000 initial investment
Head Honcho - Boss of everything. Must have had experience in more than 5 of the jobs. $7000 initial investment, $600/night

More info coming soon. Had to go.

Interesting, I'm looking forward to something like this. Also, if the Engineers don't do there job wouldn't things happen like for ex: A pipe was leaking some where in the NPP(Nuclear Power Plant). They don't go and fix it. Result, turns out the pipe was leaking toxic gas and people die. c:

Didn't think of this, definitely implementing this.

Need helpers?
To build it?

I did something like this before, and honestly, this sounds alot like a city rp. You should do an rp without a mod, relying on the players, those are much funner

Well most of this mod is relying on the players, because if they don't do there job the Nuclear Power Plant will probably explode and cause total radiation and stuff.

This sounds brilliant. I love games like these where you have to upgrade and buy stuff, like a Tycoon. Roblox did it so well, I hope it does good in Blockland.
If you ever need help building I can get some Height fellas to help you out. Just make sure you have a good layout that's also logical. Take  a look at other blueprints for Nuclear Power Plants. Ref Pictures of actual Nuclear Cores and coolers, computers, all the works.

Maybe also add a small outside scenery and down the road from the apartments lay a classic bar that you can go to buy drinks, cause we all know working all day in a Nuclear Power Plant is tough work.

I can't do anything right now except brainstorm. I will rarely have computer access for weeks

Comical, but still a nice design

This is designed for a city-based mod but some of it applies here:
An energy system is necessary. There needs to be jobs that collect an energy source from somewhere arbitrary (things like coal and gas), managers of the energy production, and people who fix power lines. This must include random generation problems, random power line issues, and devices that use energy so as to be as realistic as possible. A low amount of electricity should be constantly drawn (such as alarms, heating/cooling in RL) on top of the power to run all the other lights on the lot. Players will be billed. Even government buildings will draw electricity. Most importantly, electricity only works when people are working, as the idea here is to make there be limited resources. During different times of the year and depending on a sensible temperature of the day, energy needs may grow and shrink even depending on the time of day.
