Author Topic: what do you guys think about the new xbox one?  (Read 3311 times)

You know what would be great?

If Microsoft's Xbox department could go into serious financial troubles and finally sell Rareware to Nintendo so we could finally get a loving Banjo Kazooie game that isn't about Lego cars.

nuts and bolts was a great game. people were just pissed off that it wasn't threeie.

I don't see Valve making HL3 a racing game, Call of Duty 7 being a space simulator or Battlefield 4 being a puzzle platformer.
It's not about the fact that it's a good game or not. It's about the fact that they should have not make it part of the Banjo Kazooie series. You don't make a single series for all the genres. That's loving stupid.

everyone wants the nintendo model. where you hope you have characters popular enough to reuse in 100 spinoffs.
its easier because there are less copyrights to pay out to. and it takes about a millionths of the creativity and time of game-making.

uhh it's called a spinoff and games do it all the time.

lol.....

no one game on earth is worth an entire console
Yeah, i'll wait until 343 or someone in said company decides that making Halo 5 a Xbox One exclusive was a bad idea and puts it out for the 360

Unless that never happens, in which case... oh well?

to be fair, im not really looking forward to halo anymore
h4s story felt weird, not that i didnt like it, its just that it felt different compared to the past games

multiplayer was call of halo, the dmr is op, armor permutations are ugly, etc etc blah blah blah

i honestly feel that they just want to milk cash out of it

im gonna stick with destiny either on pc or ps4

Yeah that's really close to how i felt about Halo 4

The things they did and changed, it just doesn't feel as good as 3 and Reach

I'll be the one to post this image, so we don't even have the stupid debate going here too.

This is one of the demo units for LocoCycle, it's a PC running Windows 7.  Whoop-dee-doo.  An unfinished game built to run on an x86 console running windows is running on just that type of pc.  As for it running Windows 7, I doubt many game devs are running Windows 8, it just came out last year and upgrading is expensive and wouldn't provide much benefit for the hours of installing and the money spent on licenses.  The game apparently wasn't ready to go on the actual hardware, so they faked it with a more powerful PC, same with a few other games.  This happens sometimes (especially for E3), it works especially well for the Xbox.  This most likely isn't an Xbox Devkit, it's probably the dev's own computer.  They just put it on PC.

And before any of you guys say "Well if they do this all the time, why can't PCs run 360 games?" it's because this was a 360 devkit:

The 360 ran a powerpc processor, which uses code that is incompatible with current PCs (and windows as a whole), so why did Macs run it?  They had powerpc processors, but the games most likely ran in a custom MS operating system so they could run DirectX.

Please don't turn this of all things into a complaint against the Xbox One, there are better things to complain about.

nintendo might not. but all xbox and ps games since forever have been shown from pcs. thats how they do it. that dosnt make it less legit.

edit: but what you see at conventions is very misleading once they downgrade graphics and stuff for the final real hardware port lol

Actually quite a few PS4 demos were actual hardware, one game ended up crashing to the frontend at one point, and Jonathan Blow has been pointing out that The Witness and a few others were definitely running on the hardware.

There's literally nearly no reason to buy an Xbox One over a PS4

PS4 Benefits
-Cheaper online play
-No DRM on games
-No forced online connectivity
-Really good indie support
-Some bad-ass exclusives (Infamous, Little Big Planet, The Last of Us, Transistor (I think it's a PS4/PC exclusive anyway))
-A considerable amount cheaper
-PS+ gives you tons of free games (let's be honest who the forget cares about getting Halo 3 and Assassins Creed for free)
-Better hardware specs
-Blu-Ray Player
-Has Netflix you don't need to pay extra for other than your Netflix account
-Has some TV channels (I believe)

Xbox One Benefits
-Fifa Ultimate Team
-One or two good exclusives (Sunset Overdrive, Halo)
-Lots of TV with sports channels
-Has Netflix but you have to pay for live AS WELL as your Netflix account
-Blu-Ray Player

So basically unless those couple of exclusives are games you can't live without - there's no point. It sucks, I have a 360 and I like Microsoft but let's be honest here - the PS4 is better. A ton better.

I suggest you buy a gaming PC and a Wii U personally, Nintendo has the actual exclusives. :D
Or a gaming PC and a portable system, that works to.

To begin with, how is watching TV through your console... on your Tv... a benefit?
Also you listed Blu-Ray player on both, if you are going to make comparisons you are supposed to show things that are different, not similar.
Also how is Xbox having pay-required Netflix a bloody feature? That's stuff compared to PS4's.

Don  Mattrick will commit Self Delete within a year.

I know I sound like an ass for saying this, but I think it is a possibility. Not really hoping for this to happen but he did pretty much say "forget YOU" to people without internet.
