Author Topic: External .bls build editor  (Read 1856 times)

As an option, I think you should be able to build using an external application. Think of how more efficient it could be!
-No more having to jet/build scaffolding to build tall structures.
-Copy and paste!
-Prefabs and custom prefabs! (Building a house and then exporting it as a prefab; kinda like Gmod Duplications)
-No more having to go into a brick menu to put things in a hotbar, ease of access!

Terrain building would be a breeze!
Create Large-scale builds more efficiently!

but Blockland is a .bls build editor.
I've never heard of anything more pointless, this would basically take all the fun out of blockland and make it into a less detailed LEGO Digital Designer or LDraw.

Yes.
BUT...
This would allow people to quickly make a TDM Build, without the need of the duplicator.

C'mon! This will alleviate the problem with building up high, requiring you to use autojet or build a scaffold, and trying to keep watch of the Brick Ghost.

Imagine the cities built with this editor.

Oh boy, I can see it now. Quickly built cities with very little detail and thought put into them.

The only thing I'd like to see as an editor like this would be a Blockland Planner. Like a BlsCAD (AutoCAD) of sorts, so you can plan out your builds.
But... that's it.
No full-featured .bls builder. No.

So you're gonna build a city with very little detail and thought put into it?

There's an editor for Minecraft (unofficial), and there's an editor for Roblox.
But you can build in the game if you want (Not sure about Roblox, haven't really played it).

I don't get what all of the hate is about. Sounds like a great idea.

Why a separate application?

all these features could be an add-on

MCEdit comes to mind. It would be pretty cool having filters and stuff. Like an enlarge filter. To scale your build. That would be pretty cool. And people could write their own filters for it too.

Errrmmm... Are you saying the old map editor should be replaced with a .BLS editor?
Meh. That ruins the point of it being "external". Also you could build in the game anyways, the editor I'm thinking of would just make it more efficient and easier.

Imagine building a giant tower of 1x1 studs, just by clicking.
Imagine filling in a room with 1x1f so you can paint over them and create a nice carpet.
Imagine building large scale TDM's with full-fledged terrain.
Imagine using 1x1f as your terrain allowing you do SCULPT your landscapes easily using a tool. (Good for on-foot only maps)

Greatness awaits.

DON'T YOU FORGET TERRARIA T-EDIT!

why would you even SUGGEST this

why would you even SUGGEST this
Highly detailed terrain. Instead of having 4x4 Cube terrain you could have this nice highly detailed terrain.
