Author Topic: Bought and installed a projector above my bed  (Read 1123 times)

i can now use my computer laying down, forget yeah

Very nice, could I see a distance between the bed and the wall, and which one it was?

I've been thinking of getting one as well, I have a large blank space on my wall and plenty of space for one.

what do you mean, from the end of my bed to the wall? or are you looking for the distance from the projector to the adjacent wall?

projector is this one

I was hoping to get a visual representation of how far away I would need my projector to be.

How much are the replacement bulbs?

Do they burn out easily?

Well according to the link this one lasts about 6500 hours with its "Eco" mode or something.
I don't remember exactly but my parents said something about ours costing about a dollar every 3 hours or so comparing the price of the bulb to the time before it's supposed to burn out, I dunno though that was years ago.

i cant get a photo of the whole length because it wont fit in the frame, but the distance from the bulb to the wall is 3.3 metres

not actually sure, but i got 2 extra bulbs from a mate for $200 because he used to have the same projector but never used it. i think they're much more expensive than that though.

and yeah the eco-mode apparently makes them last longer. all it really does is turn the brightness down slightly, but it's an amazingly bright projector (i've got it on eco mode AND -10 brightness), so it's not an issue.

woah nice

is that the maximum size it can go?

yeah pretty much. for frame of reference, the projected screen is 1.5m wide and 1.2m tall, so it's not small.

for my keyboard\mouse, i'm using this keyboard which has a trackpad that changes between that and a numpad, pretty cool
