It would be kind of cool stepping around say a city in blockland with those goggles strapped on. Everything looks relatively bigger from what I've herd, as if you're the one looking around and such. Is it possible?

yeah it's possible and it'd be pretty cool

i doubt it'll happen though, the SDK is $300 and i'm sure it's not as easy as "plop it down and it works"

Yeah I kinda figured that, not to mention the camera would have to be offset from the players skeleton because then you'd be looking into the face/out of the face.
Not to mention there isn't any type of personal view models, everything is just, there.

What if a member here personally paid for the kit and sent it to Badspot if he agreed to implement it?

I wouldn't mind not seeing my player body in first person but I, and probably many others here would be interested in aiding the creation of it.

I could send mine, my younger brother has a pair but he doesn't use them much so I could send those instead.

i think it'd be a great idea just because the rift is such a great bandwagon to jump on right now

would probably boost sales just being the first 'lego-like' game to have rift support

Open-source Torque 3D supports it.

Too lazy to find .cpp related files but here's torquescript from my local repo:

Never heard of the Oculus Rift. I googled it. Thank you for posting this, I never knew.
I doubt there needs to be support for blockland, since it is basically 2 computer screens on a headset.
But the actual movement detectors, probably, or maybe they could make it somehow control the mouse.

Ok, so we know its capable, but the real question is, will Erick ever think about adding an option, or do we, the community have to do this ourselves?

It would be better if we got someone who could actually code it properly to do it.

we can't do it ourselves

Actually I see no reason why this shouldn't be implemented, would encourage stuff like horror gamemodes or maybe even first person missions, as well as boost sales.

And its cheap.

we should all donate some money into a pool, gather up 300 bucks, and send a copy of the goggles to badspot

I'm in for it, someone create a cloud donation?
