Author Topic: INF_VRTRAINING: A Virtual Reality themed stealth map  (Read 2368 times)

Made for TUUSM! Please check this out!

This is a virtual reality map themed after the ones from metal gear solid 1/2. This approach gives several advantages: A decent look, non confusing map design, Clear distinctions between objectives and important objects, easily editable geometry and layers upon layers of complexity which result in a smooth gameplay style.

Based around stealth, this map has many alternate routes and centeral chokepoints as well as 2 "big" open areas allowing for packed gunfights and dogpiles upon pesky infiltrators.

Unique mechanics include use of ramps for speedboosts, jumppads and water as stealth elements.

By the way we're using a rainbow daycycle on this map because it looks cool so that's why the sky is different in every picture. But because the entire build is set to the glow FX it doesn't really effect anything but the lighting on players and the sky colour, so.

not really your fault yo. you did early playtesting and you couldn't really help build because of your mouse problems

You mean like make it into realistic terrain using the same boundaries? That would be cool. but the majority of this map uses jumppads for it's shortcuts and they're basically it's only thing. without the jumppads the design of this map is rather boring.

Looks pretty cool. I like it, though seems a little small, but whatever, no biggie, right? :3

VR style is well chosen

maybe make a version for TDM/DM?

reminds me of that level on timesplitters FP where you had to do stunts with this remote controlled cat.
