The hell am i looking at here
The Souls series is a term referring to the various hack-and-slash rpgs made by From Software, all conveniently ending in "souls".
This thread is created with the purpose of guiding players through the sometimes intentionally confusing games and creating events to spice up the otherwise dull "bow n' backstab" PvP.

What game do i start with?
That is a choice that is entirely up to you, depending on what platform you own. The two Souls games currently released have no plot connecting them, but people who play both can see similarities and some form of continuity. However, Demon's Souls is a PS3 exclusive, so if you own one, don't hesitate to purchase both games. Dark Souls is available on PS3, XBox 360, and the PC. They are similar, although Demon's Souls is much more atmospheric(read:darker) while Dark Souls boasts a more open world and not quite as much bullstuff(read:mega casual)

This is boring. I want something more exciting.
Assuming you didn't pick the PC version, the online communities on both games are thriving and you can usually find what you're looking for in the PvP or co-op.

have demon soulds for ps3, i manage to kill like 2 of the bosses and then it just seems loving impossible without spending every hour of my day killing stuff to level up

what were the bosses? the only area that's 150% bullstuff is Valley of Defilement.

the ones i beat was that slime thing and the dragon, everything else was impossible.

but you just have to be good

invest a little in magic and you'll find that it is ridiculously overpowered. Go dig around in the third area, Tower of Latria, and you'll find a catalyst. All you need after that is to buy a spell and a little spice, which can be farmed in the same area anyway.
Remember to roll underneath the mind flayer's projectiles. You can dodge a fair amount by rolling.

thief gets master key even without selecting it, and the dagger causes extreme bleed damage. Decent starting class

Start a game as the knight. In my opinion it's the best starting class, with decent armor, a sturdy shield and incredible starting stats. Right now i'm tromping around with a bastard sword and magic weapon and it's working pretty great for me. I wish I could get my PS3 online or I'd help you out the best I could.
