An example of a Hypocrite would be like your parents who tell you not to lie, but they lie to you all the time. Irony would be like a character who bets his right eye and loses it later in the story.

I know that the bible says love is a sin as well.
Wat? Before marriage maybe.

The whole "Well two men can't bear children" thing is such a bullstuff argument. Does that mean sterile men and women shouldn't be allowed to marry as well?

Guys listen.....

Just listen.....

Maybe someone might have a different opinion than you?

listen.....
Some people may say "I'm entitled to my opinion"
But if someone's opinion involves taking away other peoples' rights, and forcing opinions mostly derived from religious beliefs upon others than do not share those religious beliefs, in a country that was founded on (among other things) freedom to practice or not practice whatever religious system you want without another religions' rules being imposed on you than no, they are not entitled to their opinion.

Oh my god I can't tell you how many times this has ran through my head, thank you.

actually we can have whatever opinion/position/religion we want and you can screw off if you can't comprehend this

quit pulling the ridiculous "atheists get precedence" gimmick card out of a hat every time someone disagrees with you on something that a major religion has a stance on when you don't even know if that's the reason they support/oppose whatever the issue is

But we do know what stance they hold on this situation, and they can't get it through their thick loving skulls that its directly interfering with constitutional equality. Their entire basis of denying homoloveual marriage is because of its "condemnation in the bible". They literally just cannot keep to themselves.

Well I guess my wording was off. You may certainly have your opinion, but you have no right forcing other people to live according to it.

What the forget are you talking about?  I never once mentioned atheism. Are you assuming anyone in support of same-love marriage is atheist? Because I really have no idea what you're trying to argue.
There are tons of religions and a lot of them don't give a single forget about homoloveuality, and even within the the ones that do, The number of people in support of same-love marriage is ever-increasing; in some states they have become the majority; the percentage of people in favor is far higher than the percentage of atheists.

a major religion has a stance on
They may certainly have this stance, and they are more than free to practice it themselves, but
...in a country that was founded on (among other things) freedom to practice or not practice whatever religious system you want without another religions' rules being imposed on you...
They have absolutely no right to force it upon the entire country

you don't even know if that's the reason they support/oppose whatever the issue is
Of the organizations whose work largely includes attempts to deny LGBT rights, a very large amount of them are Christian groups.
While arguments against LGBT rights may have shifted away (not entirely, though) from religion-oriented arguments, I have no doubt that the people making them still have religious religions for it:
Any reason people use to be against gays besides "Eww they're icky" is really just a lie. They're coming up with elaborate reasons to rationalize their irrational thoughts.

Someone get me that sarcastic "10 reasons to oppose marriage equality" image. I can't find it on 3ds.

See the thing is there's no way to make everyone happy in this situation, and it's kind of a pickle. There will still be religion and still problems for homoloveuals in the future, and stuff like this could continue for a long time as we ignore other important stuff. Plus it's kind of hard to get opinions from both sides because there's little opposition you can find against gay marriage.

By the way Hypocrisy is basically a form of situational irony.

but this is important too
i'd like to have the same rights as everyone else. as do a lot of others.

woah you might wanna slow down there pal
I never said it wasn't important, I just said we are ignoring other important things and it is pretty problematic.

even the bibles has instances of other things that arent man/woman

even the bibles has instances of other things that arent man/woman
That's not even the biggest problem with it

It's not a legal document for starters, plus anyone with an IQ over 80 who reads it (along with its stories about Abraham willing to kill his son, the celebration of slavery and the loving talking snake) would probably figure that we shouldn't base legal systems on it.

I will always hate same love marriage and that's not something I can change sadly, so where is the noooooooo! option in the pole?
